Greetings from the USA!
“Dad and Mom, would you have time to come over to the house?” “Papa, I’m having trouble with my car, could you come and look at it?” THIS IS MUSIC TO OUR EARS! As we told you in our last update, we will be taking a few months to ‘soak’ in the joys and duties of a parenting and grand parenting. We will keep you updated on what is happening in Paraguay and with us in the States. For the next few months, you will rely on bi-weekly reports sent to us from our Staff, as we receive monthly testimonies and data reports of on-going activities. We assure you that the work in Paraguay is continuing as usual, under the watchful eye of Pastor Victor Cardozo; as well as Jerry, who is keeping a finger on the pulse of the LWT-Paraguay Ministry through frequent contact using Internet and WhatsApp. God is doing good things in Paraguay and blessing us as we are in the States!
We praise and thank God for His faithfulness. Before we left Paraguay for the USA, we had asked our staff to agree with us for a vehicle for our use during our 10month stay. For almost 25 years we had relied on ‘borrowed’ vehicles for transportation – by the way, many thanks to those who loaned us, from time to time, one of their vehicles over the years! After only being in the US for not even two weeks, we received a vehicle to call our own – a low-mileage, 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada SUV. Many thanks to and blessings on the donating family – our prayer for you is, according to Deuteronomy 1:11, a one-thousand time over ‘spiritual’ blessing and a one-hundred time ‘financial’ blessing for your donation.
**The Hola Club Children’s Hospital:
During the month of November, we visited the children’s hospital 5 times. We were able to minister to: 321 children and adults during these visits. There were 152 parents and other adults that chose to pray the prayer of salvation with us.
*Pastors Victor and Marlene Cardozo and the entire Staff and Church, send their greetings and love to you all! Time after time we are told of how grateful they are that we have been sent to Paraguay to share the Word of God with them. The Paraguayans are a very loving people, and if you were there, they would plant a BIG kiss on your cheek and hug your neck! We are pleased at the spiritual growth that we are witnessing in these precious people!
*One of the many projects of the CEB Church in the months of October and November was to host 13-YWAM (JOCUM – Curitiba) student missionaries from Brazil.
These missionaries joined into the ‘church family’ without any problem. The five young men and eight young women (ages 19-24 years) labored physically on the church property; presented seminars; evangelism within Capiatá and the interior of the country; visited the Children’s hospital and the prison; were interviewed on the Christian TV station…and many, many more activites. They came to practice what they had learned in the classroom and blessed us greatly. And, we had the opportunity to pour ourselves into them and bless them in return!
A song was heard at Christmas.
To wake the midnight sky.
A savior’s birth, and peace on earth and praise to God on high.
Good news from heaven the angels bring;
Glad tidings to the earth they sing;
To us this day a child is given;
To crown us with the joy of heaven.
May the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ bring you and your family endless prosperity.
As we rejoice and celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas, let us not forget to thank baby Jesus for coming into our lives.
Let us together prepare ourselves to welcome him into the homes of our hearts.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
Blessings – Jerry and Connie
