October 2010

Greetings from La Crosse, Wisconsin.

We pray that this finds you all blessed and happy. We are truly thankful for your friendship and ask that you keep our traveling in the US covered with your prayers. God is faithful and we find ourselves being overtaken with blessings as each day passes. We do indeed serve a great and loving God.

While we are in the States - we are having a wonderful time! Our first stop in September was Colorado, where our ‘kids’ are. (What a shock, we found that four of our six grandchildren are now looking us in the eye or we are looking up to them!)

During September - our time was filled with sharing in churches in Colorado, Nebraska and Wisconsin. One note of interest, with relation to a group of ‘short-term missionaries’ that visited us in July of this year, we were privilegded to share in their churches, First United Methodist Church and a Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, while in Sidney, Nebraska!

Now, here it is October and - we find ourselves back in Wisconsin visiting other supporting churches, sharing about all the exciting things that God has been doing in Paraguay for the last two years. There is so much to share, but our main desire is to thank the pastors and their congergations for their loving support… most of them have been with us for the 18 years that we have been in Paraguay. This speaks of more than a great commitment, it speaks of a loving and trusting relationship.

We have been receiving weekly reports from our Paraguayan Staff. They have been busy keeping the office, CEB Church, Bible School and extra activities moving smoothly. They have had a few challenges crop up, but all-in-all everything is going well for them. One ítem that you can join is in prayer about is the Prison Ministry. Once again they have had an escape attempt and the prison has been shut down to all activities by groups from outsise the prison - our workers inside continue with Prayer, Study and Church Services during this ‘lockdown’. Pray that we will be able to continue the different outreaches (Bible School, church services, counseling)as soon as posible. Victor, Edgar, Bette, Marta, Dolia and Rodrigo all send their greetings and love!

Here is a brief summary of our share time information with the churches this trip:

  • First of all, thanks to all for your financial and prayer support over the last 18 years. Without you ‘on board’ with us, and God in front leading the way, we would not be able to do what we are doing.
  • In the last two Years we have seen New Growth and Stability in the lives of the Paraguayans as welll as in the Local Church as a whole. We average approx. 60 Paraguayansa involved with the ministry on a monthly basis. God continues to bless the Children’s Hospital ministry - God is liberating His Creation! Spirit, Soul and Body!
  • In 2009 we were able to finalize the purchase of the 9 (nine) ministry properties and vacant lots as well as complete the construction of the Security Fence around the properties and the construction of 75’ (75 feet) of the 12’(12 foot) high wall that will eventually surround all the properties.
  • In 2010 we were able to construct a Bathroom Complex for the use of the Ministry and also purchase two additional vacant lots for Parking Purposes - we paid $10,000 in May, purchasing one lot; the purchase of second lot is scheduled for the end of October at which time we will closing on these two purchases.
  • Please note: Living Water Teaching - Paraguay is debt free and will remain debt free!

bibleLet us leave you with this portion of Scripture taken from the MESSAGE BIBLE: 2 Timothy 4:1-2, “I can’t impress this on you too strongly. God is looking over your shoulder. Christ himself is the Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and dead. He is about to break into the open with his rule, so proclaim the Message with intensitiy; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people Don’t ever quit. Just keep it simple.
