September 2009

Greetings from Paraguay!

During the month of August we had to make a few ‘plan adjustments’ due to the fact that Jerry spent a week in the Baptist Hospital in Asunción. Even with the unscheduled rest, the ministry continued on with God’s help and our faithful staff. Jerry was placed in the hospital with a severe intestinal infection (a possible food poisoning) and a hernia repair. This has slowed him down a notch or two, but Jerry is mending and almost back to his regular schedule. Thank you for your prayers that provide protection and comfort to us no matter what we have to face!Jerry & Connie

WE PRAISE God THAT:

The Acosta Ñú Children’s Hospital: In the month of August our faithful team visited the hospital 3 times, praying for 202-children and parents. There were 82-parents and older children who prayed the prayer of salvation! (Another hospital guard received Jesus!)

The CEB Church: The Sunday attendance continues to stay between 125 to 130 people, with a growing number of visitors coming to check us out. The Holy Spirit is ministering to individual lives and the Word of God is filling the hearts of the people with hope, peace and joy. God is good!

Youth: August 22 and 23, the CEB Youth Leaders, Daniel and Marta Benitez took 20 youth interior on a weekend missions trip. The group ministered to children, youth and distributed used clothing to 25 families around the Living Water Church in Itá Azul (Blue Rock). They seen an elderly woman healed of leg pain and six youth salvations along with 30 children responding and asking Jesus to come into their heart! The trip became a real adventure when the team had to spend the night in the bus due to rain and the bus breaking through a small wooden bridge. After they prayed, God sent a wind to dry out the roads and a tractor to pull the bus off of the broken bridge!

Church Body in Action: We were very proud to see the Word in action as the CEB Church body rallied around the Rojas family during the long illness of their mother/ grandmother. The doctors had done all that they could and sent the precious Ramona home to die. Hours of visitation, prayer, and help was extended for over a month to this very large family (11 children, 46 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren). Most of the family is Catholic, but they welcomed the prayers and visits and a large number of them responded to the salvation prayer when presented. At the Funeral Wake, the pastoral staff, the youth group and the music department each took turns in sitting with, praying for and singing with the loved ones and friends that gathered for the all night vigil.

Join us in PRAYING for:

CEB Church Construction: The construction has come to a stop until more finances can be raised. The CEB Building Committee has been working hard in raising funds and has another event scheduled for the first weekend in October. They are a very faithful group that inspires the whole church body to participate in these events. We ask that you would join us in praying for witty ideas and abundance as we do our part in completing the vision that God has placed in the leadership of our church and ministry. Join us in calling forth the finances from the North, the South, the East and the West that God has prepared for us at this time.

Pray for comfort of heart: August was a difficult month for the Rojas Family that lost their beloved mother/grandmother after a long illness, and a CEB Bible Institute student who lost a third teenage son due to suicide.

Counseling and Inter healing: With each passing week, we are encountering more young ladies and girls that have experienced a sexual abuse. Also, there are marriages suffering and business finances in disarray that need immediate spiritual help. Pray that we will have wisdom in ministering the Word and love in each area.

CFC Prison Ministry: Pastor Victor was informed that the prison directors are putting into effect a ridged program that will greatly limit visitors and visiting hours. The Church and CEB Bible Institute teachers within the prison are asking that letters of testimonies are written by former inmates whose lives have been impacted by the CFC Ministry. These letters will be presented to the officials in charge with the request that the CFC Ministry be able to continue ministering within the prison walls. Join us in praying for favor with the officials and that we may enter in once again with the Word without hindrances. Pastor Victor was informed that the prison directors are putting into effect a ridged program that will greatly limit visitors and visiting hours. Special prayer requests:

We ask that you would join us in praying for a buyer for the Suburban that we have had For Sale for some time. We ask for God’s perfect timing and provision. It is our desire to use the money towards the churches projects.

The lady that owns the adjoining lot to our property on the North has recently come and re-offered to sell us the property that she had promised to sell over a year ago. Pray for God’s provision so that we may pay in full for this property. (This time, she has the title and is not trying to change the asking price or the agreed upon procedures. )

Personal health and strength, that we are able keep our eyes on Jesus and his promises, and to walk in the abundance of his provision.

Thank you for your faithful prayers.
